Breaking Monorail News

March 8th, 2012

Hello everyone. As promised, below is the news I received in regards to the Disney World Monorail according to the Disney World Dreams Yahoo! Group:

Due to construction on the new Disney Vacation Club property at the Grand Floridian, the Walt Disney World monorail will soon be running on limited hours. The Magic Kingdom resort loop will be closed from 11:30 am – 6:00 pm during the affected dates. No specific dates have been announced yet, including the length of the altered schedule, but it may begin as soon as next week. Guests at the Magic Kingdom resorts will have to rely on buses and boats to get to the theme parks.

Update 2/6/12: This began today, March 6. Disney is hoping the work will be completed by the end of March, weather permitting. If traveling to Epcot from one of the monorail resorts, guests will need to take a bus to the Ticket and Transportation Center, then transfer to the Epcot monorail.

What are your thoughts regarding this news? Do you like it? Hate it? Are you indifferent? Please post your comments below and let the world know how you feel. Next time on Beyond the Castle, we will be taking a look at Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Campground with the help of the Disney Vacation Planning DVD. For now though, as always, have a magical day!
