Disney and Make-A-Wish

July 11th, 2012

Hello Disney lovers. As you may or may not know, on and off in my last few posts, I have been discussing people with disabilities and Walt Disney World. Continuing along those lines, in today’s post, I want to share something I learned just in casual conversation with a fellow Disney fanatic. Disney and the Make-A-Wish foundation have been great partners for many years. In fact, when looking something up for this blog post, I discovered that Make-A-Wish just granted a young boy’s wish to attend Star Wars Weekend at Walt Disney World back in May. This is just one of countless dreams that Make-A-Wish provides for children with life threatening illnesses. However, what I learned yesterday is that if you are at Walt Disney World through a wish granted by Make-A-Wish, you automatically get to go to the front of the line of any attraction at Walt Disney World. Apparently you are given a special pass that you show to any cast member once you approach the attraction you would like to ride. You then get put at the front of the line and receive first priority at the next vehicle or whatever you are going to ride. Now I have not seen this happen in person, but I think it’s a very neat move on Disney’s part to make this feature available for children who are terminally ill. Have you ever seen someone’s wish granted in this way by Make-A-Wish? If so, what was your reaction? Please comment below or E-mail us at I’m sure some of you have some amazing stories to share. Feel free to write them all as we would love to read them. For now though, as always, have a magical day!
