Throughout my Walt Disney World journey, one of the main debates that have been raging is whether to stay on property at a Disney World resort such as Port Orleans, or to go off property and stay at a resort in Orlando at a resort near Disney World. Believe it or not, I can see points to both arguments. If you aren’t on property, you can go to things like Universal or Sea World if any of those parks tickle your fancy. I’m going to be a little biased here and say that for me, being on property and staying at a Walt Disney World resort is really the best way to go. As I explained before in the “Bob Jackson Experience” post, there’s just something in the atmosphere when you stay at a Disney World resort. The people are just a little bit friendlier. The service in your room is usually top notch. Trust me. I sort of know from experience. When I go to Disney World, we always drive. If all goes well, we stop in Georgia after a long day of traveling. 99 percent of the time in our room in Georgia, something happens that makes us appreciate our room in Disney World. The staff at Disney World treats you better. If you need to make a call to the front desk, the staff usually answers the phone on the first ring. Plus, when they pick up the phone, they will address you by your last name. Take it from me. If you want the full Disney World experience, stay in a resort on property. You’ll be glad you did. What have been your best and worst experiences at a hotel? Next time, I’ll share my thoughts on the new Avatar land being built at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Until then, have a magical day!
