Boats to Downtown Disney

December 8th, 2011

Before I get to my review of the Rainforest Café, I will like to tell you a secret you may not know of how to get there. For this writing, we are going to assume that you are staying at a resort on the Walt Disney World property. A lot of people don’t know that many of the Walt Disney World resorts offer a boating service to get over to Downtown Disney. Both Port Orleans resorts, Disney’s Old Key West resort, Disney’s Boardwalk resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs resort and Disney’s Treehouse Villa’s all offer boat services to Downtown Disney. These boat services can be used to get from a resort to Downtown Disney. The boats run every 20 minutes. Now if you are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside and you want to go over to Downtown Disney by boat, you will not get there directly. You will first be making a stop at Port Orleans French Quarter. The time taken at each stop is very minimal. They will just wait until everyone gets on the boat that needs to and those who want to get off the boat can do so as well. Once you set sail from the Port Orleans French Quarter, you are well on your way to Downtown Disney and the Rainforest Café. The boat I feel is a very relaxing ride. You are able to just sit back and enjoy the scenery. On the way, you will see various things such as the Disney’s Treehouse Villas where people can stay and the various golf courses where people can play golf on the Walt Disney World property. I personally prefer the boat over the Disney buses, but I think that’s just a matter of personal preference. You can take both options once you take your next vacation and decide which option is best for you. If you have been to Disney World, what is your favorite form of transportation? If you have not been to Disney World, which form of transportation do you feel will work best for you and your family? Please post your comments below and let the world know your thoughts. Next time on Beyond the Castle, we will take a look at the Rainforest Café from a food perspective. For now though, as always, have a magical day!
